The day after the 2011 federal election

May 3, 2011 § Leave a comment

Last night was an exciting and disappointing election in Canada. It was disappointing to see the Tories get a majority government. It was exciting to see the growth of the NDP. Perhaps it is all for the best – the NDP needs time with the training wheels. Will Harper do as he promised today, lead a center right government? It might be possible. I have yet to see any actual analysis, but it may be that a lot of the Liberal vote split to the Conservatives. In order to keep those votes, they can’t get too wacky. Say goodbye to the long gun registry, but that may be about that.
