Helping New Drugs Out of Research’s ‘Valley of Death’ – NYTimes.com. An excellent analysis of the structural issues that make basic scientific and medical research relevant to patients. It’s not that we take too many drugs, but rather that we take to many somewhat or complete useless drugs.

And the follow up; A Team Approach to Drug Cures – NYTimes.com. Yes, serendipity can be planned for, but it’s also a function of individual personality. All those years staring out a classroom window had some purpose.
