No new jobs when no one’s buying

The Wageless, Profitable Recovery – NYTimes.com. So, the big bad corporations are raking in unconscionable profits and screwing the working class. Not so much. If there was a market for their products, they would be creating new jobs. High levels of consumer debt and unemployment have a negative impact on the strength of markets.

So, recovery should be led by government investments in higher education, research and development and infrastructure – all three of which have an impact on employment. They also have the added benefit of creating better employment conditions in the long term.
