At least people could afford housing in the suburbs

Income inequality rising quickly in Canada – The Globe and Mail. This report is just one of a similar kind of report that’s come out over the last 10 years. I would argue that the more important trend is the decline of the middle class. People tend to move in and out of poverty. If it’s reasonable to aspire to a middle class income, then those in poverty have a concrete objective. If the middle class is shutting down, then why bother?
