Andrew Sullivan: How Obamas Long Game Will Outsmart His Critics – The Daily Beast. This Andrew Sullivan article has gotten quite a bit of play and is a worthwhile read.

What’s very useful for Canadian pragmatic progressives is a video by Michelle Goldberg arguing that the U.S. left needs to grow up and get into the messy business of “retail politics”.

While the Federal NDP won big on the personality of Jack Layton and the Saskatchewan NDP lost big on the personality of Dwain Lingenfelter, in the long game it’s retail politics that count – having an on the ground organization that can get out the vote.
