This is amazing – a talk show segment where Woody Allen interviews Billy Graham. There is a certain sweetness on both of their parts that reminds us that politeness and civility aren’t such bad things.

Country would lose at least $1.3-billion if government privatizes CBC: report – The Globe and Mail. At least from this report, I’m not sure that the reasoning fully plays out. For CBC Radio listeners, becoming a private commercial broadcaster has one obvious downside: one of the primary reasons I listen to public radio is the absence of commercials. If CBC Radio went commercial, I’d likely switch to NPR on the internet.

One of the other reasons that CBC, television in particular, doesn’t get a lot of support in the Prairies is the service’s concentration in Quebec and Ontario (to a lesser extent in Vancouver). We have our own industry and stories to tell – wouldn’t it be fair to spread the spending fairly?

It’s a dialogue, folks, not a shout fest.
